About Us
Alice N. Bravo, P.E., is the President of Alice Bravo & Assoc. LLC, a consulting firm specializing in engineering and transit planning and design. The firm maintains a specific focus on funding and regulatory/policy issues. With over 25 years of experience leading large organizations, initiatives, and projects, Alice has coordinated closely with elected officials, policy makers, and agency leaders at the federal, state, and local level. Her work often involves highway and transit projects, and she has successfully garnered support/approvals for many major infrastructure projects in our community.
Prior to starting her own firm, Alice served as Sr. Vice President/Florida District Leader at WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy. Alice was responsible for project delivery across a broad range of disciplines. These included transportation, environmental, water, property and buildings, and other infrastructure challenges.
Before joining WSP, Alice held the position of Director of the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) for Miami-Dade County (County), where she managed the 15th largest public transit system in the United States. Her leadership at DTPW resulted in the County securing its first FTA Capital Investment Grant in over two decades for the South Corridor Bus Rapid Transit Project.
Alice also spearheaded the County’s Strategic Miami Area Rapid Transit (SMART) Plan. She advanced nearly 20 transit-oriented developments and initiated the conversion of the County’s almost 3,000 traffic signals to smart adaptive signals. Alice introduced autonomous vehicle programs, urban air mobility, micromobility, new apps, and fare collection systems. This positioned the County as a leader of transportation innovation and created an environment promoting new technologies and collaboration.
Before her role with the County, Alice served as Deputy City Manager for the City of Miami. There she oversaw six city departments, including Planning & Zoning, Building, Real Estate Management, and Capital Improvements. During her tenure as the Director of Transportation Development with the Florida Department of Transportation District 6, she managed significant projects such as the Port of Miami Tunnel Project, the I-395 reconstruction project, the 95 Express Managed Lanes, and several major Palmetto Expressway reconstruction projects.
Alice is a graduate of the University of Miami, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. She also holds a master’s degree in business administration from Florida International University.
Alice Bravo has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to the transportation industry and her commitment to improving infrastructure across Florida. With a passion for public service and a tireless work ethic, Alice has earned more than 10 prestigious awards throughout her career. These accolades reflect her leadership, vision, and dedication to creating innovative solutions that enhance the quality of life for countless Floridians.
